When I was in my late 20's my older sister turned 40. Her surprise party was filled with "Over the Hill" paraphernalia. At the time, it didn't seem odd. After all, she was 40, super old, an age that meant you were really grown up. At least, that was my perspective :-)
Last month I turned 40. However, I don't necessarily feel really grown up. I'm old enough to know that I still have SO much to learn and Lord willing, many more years to enjoy. It's true, there are little wrinkles around my eyes and lots of gray hair in the mix but I feel young. Sometimes I hear people say, "Oh, I'm turning 40, I'm SO old." It cracks me up every time. I am glad that I feel young and I intend to feel that way for as long as I can!
Like most milestones in life, I have been doing a lot of reflecting and goal setting. I decided to share some of my goals. First, I would like to do a better job at encouraging people. As I look around I see so many people that I love and appreciate, yet I don't tell them. So I have set a goal to write a note, via e-mail or FB, to 4 different people each week and tell them how much I appreciate them. Second, I really love blogging and my goal is to write at least 2 blog posts a week. Third, I want to make more chocolate chip cookies and pray over them. Yep, pray over them and read here to find out why!
My High School girlfriends.
We got together for dinner to celebrate our 40th birthdays.
Nobody can make me laugh like they can :-)
My 40th Birthday with the Hubby and my 3 crazy little boys :-)
They weren't too thrilled about posing for a picture.
