Our team is arriving in Addis Ababa around 7:30 AM, March 18th. Of course, it will be almost midnight the night before to our body clocks. Basically, we are skipping a night. Ethiopia is 8 hours ahead (central time zone). So while all our friends and family are sleeping (and we wish we were) we will be getting our luggage, meeting Children's HopeChest staff and driving 3 hours south to a town called Awassa. I've encouraged the team to try and stay awake for the day, eat a good dinner and crash. My experience 2 years ago was that I slept amazing the first night, woke up the next morning refreshed and adjusted to the time change. I'm praying that is our experience this time.
I'm excited about the drive we will take today through the beautiful countryside of rural Ethiopia.
