RIP little mattress

Today I threw away a mattress that I remember sleeping on as a teenager.  That means it's at least 25 years old.  Despite being used, we were VERY grateful when my parents gave us these 2 matching mattresses when we got married (15 years ago!)  We threw one out a few years back and now this one went today.  They both served us well.

We live in a neighborhood where people tend to struggle financially.  We've found that about 50% of stuff we set out by the garbage can, tends to get taken.  I'm fine with that, after all, another person's junk is someone else's treasure.  Heck, I've dumpster dived before.  My nephew got a $500 espresso machine that someone threw out and he got it working.  It just needed to be descaled.  I've had a latte from it before.  Dumpster diving can definitely pay off.

With that in mind, I just couldn't stick this out by the trash without a warning.

Warning: I'm over 20 years old & have been peed on more times than I can count.  Let me RIP.

I just didn't want anyone to take it.  Can you see the big pee stain, it's still wet.  Yes, we have used waterproof mattress pads & plastic mattress pads but sometimes, they fail.  Anyone know a store that has good deals on mattresses?  I'm definitely not dumpster diving to find a new one :-)
