Drama

Last week I was struggling.  My struggle definitely involved hormones (sorry to any men reading this).

The hubby had been gone for 3 days on a business trip and when he called from the airport, I was struggling.  He could tell and reassured me he would be home in a few minutes.  After we hung up, I sent him the following text.

"I feel fat, ugly and don't even know why you would want to come home to me. Just stay away!"

After I sent it I glance back at my phone and realized I didn't send it to his number.  Instead, I sent it to a girlfriend.  I immediately replied with,

"Oh crap!"

Within a minute she texted back and said,

"You OK?"

Then asked,

"That wasn't suppose to come to me, was it?"

By that point, I was laughing SO hard I was about to pee my pants.

She followed up with a couple encouraging texts reassuring me I was OK and things were going to be fine.  It was SO good to step back and look at how pathetic I sounded.  It definitely lifted my spirits and by the time the hubby arrived home, I was in a great mood.

The moral of the story is next time you feel like crap, text a girlfriend and spare your hubby the drama.

  1. Your post made me smile from ear to ear!!! So funny, and you're right.

The way we often see ourselves is so far from the truth, and even if it isn't, our focus should be on the Lord, His blessings, and serving Him.

Thank you for this wonderful insight!
