We had 3 suitcases full of gifts!! I think the total weight was 100 lbs. We were bringing some serious LOVE!
On my recent trip to Ethiopia one of the highlights was hand delivering gifts from sponsors to their precious child. It's neat to think that YOU can be a mentor to a child 7500 miles away, right?!
I am convinced that this is the BEST sponsorship program ever because of the personal connection that sponsors can feel to their child.
Gifts included toys, clothing, hair accessories and even 2 very cool decorate yourself bags (see pictures below)!
In turn, the children made gifts for their sponsor. We brought foam picture frames, put the children's names on them, had the children decorate them and I added the pictures when I got home. This week I am mailing out the gift and hope they adorn each sponsor's refrigerator.
I am praying about when to travel back to Ethiopia in 2014. I look forward to continuing to facilitate the relationship between the sponsors and their children. As of today, 45 children still need a sponsor. It's $34 a month. You can follow a link by clicking HERE. On "Status" click the arrow and select "Unsponsored" to see the waiting children.
