In January 2011, I met the owner of these shoes. His name was Israel and he cried when I got him a new pair out of our donations. He cried and I cried.
I saw Israel again last month on my trip to Ethiopia. I visited Israel's school, it's a wonderful school that I am helping to support. Israel has GROWN so much! He is definitely in need of another new pair of shoes. As a matter of fact, many of the newer children were barefoot and the shoes we did see were very worn.
