How big is baby? So BIG!

When my boys were little I used to play the "How Big" game. I would say, "How big is ___?" They would throw their arms up as I would say, "So BIG!"

A month ago a tornado tore through our neighborhood. Thankfully, it missed our house by 3 blocks. The next morning I toured one of the hardest hit areas.

The area is all cleaned up now and I drive through it daily. However, it seems different. I think the difference is the missing trees. Houses can be rebuilt, light posts fixed but trees take years to grow back.

Since the tornado I have gained a deeper appreciation for nature. It is powerful, beautiful and so BIG! To think that the wind, in just mere seconds, could do the damage pictured above is awe inspiring. I've realized that trees add so much beauty and warmth to a landscape. My favorite thing to think about is the size of the universe. It is mind boggling! From our vantage point it has no beginning and no end. Just our galaxy alone is 100,000 light years wide. That means it would take 100,000 years, traveling at the speed of light, to cross the Milky Way. The Milky Way is just one of billions of galaxies. So BIG! Crazy BIG!

I recently wrote about sacred writings. The Bible is what I read. It talks of one God, who created all that we see. The question I have is, "How big is He?" Based on the universe, the power and beauty of nature and all that we see, He must be ,"So BIG!" That is definitely something to ponder.
