We are on a countdown to summer vacation! Two weeks from today is the last day of school. I am so thankful! I love summer vacation with my boys. The boys sleeping in, swimming, the cabin, friends, sticks, mud, fights, my patience tested, VBS and ice cream. It is all good!
I use to love to sleep in but the older I get, the more I appreciate the quiet of early mornings. I am not saying I am a morning person. I still hit snooze a few times and don't fully wake up until I have started to drink my coffee. It took me 11 years of marriage to realized that getting up with Dan is important for him. It makes him feel loved and it is part of meeting his needs. So this summer I am excited to get up early, iron his clothes, make his coffee, kiss him goodbye and then head to my front porch for some time of prayer.
Our front porch faces east. I love how the sun comes through the trees. Early mornings are not a good time for me to read my Bible, like I said I am not a morning person. However, it is a good time to pray. This summer, as the sun rises, I will be on my front porch with Jesus talking to Him about EVERYTHING! I recently started using Beth Moore's book, Praying God's Word, as a tool for my prayer time. It is a neat book. I recommending checking it out.
