Tapestry

At our neighborhood study last night I felt like I saw a glimpse of the tapestry, the tapestry of time. God, as the weaver, sits and works to create the big picture. He knows what it will look like, He can see the finished product and as He works to blend each thread together our lives move on day by day. From our perspective we see the mess, the backside of His picture. We see individual threads and we live each moment as those threads are woven together. I do not understand how our lack of love for our Creator, our sin, affects His tapestry but in the end the picture will be His plan, His will. I praise Him for that!

Last night a neighbor, who has come to a deep understanding of Jesus, cried as she told us about her awe of God. How she is thankful that He brought neighbors around her to share the truths found in His word, the Bible. She talked of a life long family friend, now in her 90's, that for years has been talking about Jesus and the need for salvation. My neighbor said it never made sense until recently. She now understands and is now born again. That term never made sense to her but as we were reading about Nicodemus the understanding was complete. We must be born again into a new life with our Savior.

I saw a glimpse of the tapestry. Actually, I saw how this one thread, this 90 year old obedient follower, was being woven in and out of other threads, other lives, the life of my neighbor. How her thread, my neighbor's thread, and my thread were woven together to create a beautiful picture of a lost soul finding salvation. It is so easy for Christians to get wrapped up in life, our Christian realm and forget the lost souls, threads, that need to be woven into our lives for God to complete His tapestry.

My question for you, dear reader, depends on where you are at in this process of weaving. If you are a follower of Jesus, are you allowing yourself to be woven amongst those lost souls, threads? Each thread is needed to make the picture complete. Let God use you, let Him weave you into the lives of the lost threads who desparately need Him!

If you are not a follower of Jesus my question is, have you every taken the time to look at what the Bible says? After all, it is the best seller in all of history. Wars have been fought in its name, scandals precipitated and politics shaped and reshaped by its words. You may be perplexed by all the "fuss" but do you know what it really says? It was written over a 1500 year time period, by 40 different authors and yet it has one significant theme and ties together beautifully. It is just plain logical to take a few hours out of your life to see what it has to say for yourself. You may walk away saying, "That's interesting" or it may transform your life. That is what we are using in our weekly study. It simply and logically explains the Bible from beginning to end. I will buy and give you a copy if you are the least bit interested.
